Found that when participants rated themselves on personality
adjectives, there were 6 factors rather than 5, although there was high
overlap with the BFM
Key distinctions
o Neuroticism is changed into emotionality
Tendency to experience negative emotions, but also
includes dependence and sentimentality (emotional
connections to others)
o Agreeableness is split into honest-humility and agreeableness
because BFM agreeableness taps into hostility and arrogance
Honest-humility: lack of arrogance, fairness
Agreeableness: lack of hostility, forgiving, patient
Emotionality, honest-humility, extraversion, agreeableness,
conscientiousness, openness to experience
BFM has been able to predict 50% if the variance in creative
Openness to experience is the strongest BFM predictor of creativity on
verbal and divergent thinking tasks, writing a short story, self-reports,
and Creative personality
Extraversion is a positive indicator of creative personality and creative
Conscientiousness has a negative predictor of creative personality
(malevolent creativity)
o Conscientiousness may be related to creativity among
individuals with low creative ability
