Meeting a new client: start with new client by introducing yourself and perhaps a bit about yourself and your training/credentials. This must happen before any personal information is shared by the client. Families, parents, and couples are messier than working with an individual when it comes to confidentiality. It is important to explain that what the child might say in an individual therapy session will not be shared with a parent, regardless of the (cid:272)hild"s age.
