Document Summary
Reality is subjective we experience the world in a subjective way. We have the ability to attach meaning to our subjective experiences. You need to make rational choices about your feelings - therapy teaches how to do that. Recognize your rational beliefs, nonsensical, insane beliefs and how to put them in their place, and how to not be ruled by them. If we act in rational ways and think about things in rational ways we will fee good. Otherwise we will be ruled by our feelings and will be unhappy and dysfunctional. First get the confidence, then you can act confident how the world responds to you. Most concrete measure we have is our behaviour. Our irrationality tends to lead to unrealistic expectations of ourselves and of others.
