Gestalt therapy highly directive vs. non-directive (roger is more non-directive, while freud is more directive) Perls is more on the directive side he directs the process, interested in how the body communicates. High level of interpretations vs. low level of interpretation (freud = high level of interpretation, rogers is low level of interpretation) Perl is all about paying attention what are we paying attention to and what do we need to pay attention to. Its not your past that matters, its your relationship to the past. Perl everything is interactive and folds into each other into a comprehensive whole. We cant talk about one being more important to each other, because they all fit together to make a whole (they all interact) How people perceive injuries is how they experience the injury in their mind (what it means for their life) He used to work with brain injuries then shifted to become a psychoanalyst therapist.
