Health is not just about the absence of disease, but about spirit and the body, when it comes to health, your health is intimately linked to your social economic status, your health is linked to your people. System of economic, political, social and cultural domination of one group of people over another. Eurocentric: colonialism has played out for european to assimilate non-europeans throughout history. Multi-faceted: land-ownership; governance; cultural and social beliefs. When colonial practice came about, it brought european cultural practice that started taking the place of indigenous culture, Native people think of medicine as a mix of physical, spiritual, and mental balance. When the body is out of balance that"s when health problems occur.
