Introduction: we go back b/c it is important to understand the great amount of diversity and avoiding homogenizing. Similar to development to europe"s ( many of the societies that got concurred had similar maybe even superior socio economic structures than those who colonized) (some pre colonized societies had economies while other had empires better that european countries) It was the political development in europe that was able to do this. Capitalism: many countries that were colonized suffered for capitalism destroyed social-economic organization (ex. A two sided equations of course colonialism brings together societies but it wasn"t a one way process. Varied across regions ( depending on who is conquering who, different processes) Nature of colonialism and the two sided equation is conditioned by: nature colonizer (the want for raw materials and slaves, nature colonized (what resources they have to offer )
