The director micha peled takes us through the lifestyle of mere secondary service worker in the city of shaxi, guangzhou. The workers experienced poor living (dorms are provided by the employees, each dorm contains 12 females who share all the facilities) and working conditions, extended work hours (usually 16 18 hours per day) and austere policies. The monthly pay was ridiculous, earnings range 30 60 usd and the workers were responsible for their meals. Last train home by lixin fan (2010) 85 minutes. China with 130 million migrant workers has the largest human migration in the world (last train home, 2010). These people abandon their homes in the countryside and travel to the city in search of work mainly in the primary and secondary sector.
