Diseases, illness, sickness & poor health (different meaning) Disease: state of being unwell that is identified, examined & diagnosed by health professional: medical professionals diagnose disease by bodily signs (fever, blood pressure, causes bodily stress. International classification of diseases (icd)- not all diseases are universally expectable/classified. Icd classify & defines disease versus illness which are classified internationally: self-diagnosed or locally diagnosed. Used by medical anthropologist who tired to make sense of pain & suffering.
