*there"s a new syllabus posted on moodle for the correct readings for certain dates* What does it mean to emphasize the performance text over the written text in theatre: to create a theatre where movement, dynamics and form would have predominance over literature. = imitating life: historical origins, extreme attention to details, all senses are used. The frequent overlap of fictional spaces and their interferences with each other created a powerful sensory and emotional montage. Displacement or decalage : doesn"t have to be logical, is visceral. Personal (autobiography) experience is used as a reference. Resource, partition, evaluation and representation: resources = element of creation, partition = exploration and synthesis, evaluation = specific choices, representation = result of other cycles. Lepage"s work focuses on creation as a process. In western thought, product is more important than process. Improv is a product of art creation: art + skill = process. A2 (videoclip) comments on human condition: war, fear and human vulnerability.
