Late 19- to early 20th century first wave of feminism known as suffrage. It is also the beginning of a lot of literary recovery projects such as finding the wo(cid:373)e(cid:374)"s stories in histories. Third wave late 80s and is still happening: intersectionality, class, race, gender, sexuality. It was in the teens that these values are being pushed as the true values of feminism. 20th century: women were persons under the law and given the right to vote. 1917-1969: women were given the right to vote under class, marital status, and race. Very few white women gained the vote before 1920 due to their wealth and association with men in power. 1927: women were recognized as persons under the law and can own property. Asian women and women of colour in 1940.
