The longer a theatre company has ran for, the more funding they will get. Early 1990s: they were running a culture called queer culture. They were to produce two gay and two lesbian plays in this festival. 1979: this theatre started as a great big plan. Autumn leaf theatre, aka performance theatre, nightwood theatre, buddies, necessary angel, the theatre center. Autumn leaf is a theatre which was performance based. These theatres pulled their entities together and decided to share a great space. The time buddies was created, the mandate was dedicated to avante garde french poetry. Sky gilbert then changed the mandate to be more queer focused. It"s a priso(cid:374) e(cid:454)perie(cid:374)(cid:272)e (cid:449)here a (cid:455)ou(cid:374)g (cid:373)a(cid:374) is i(cid:374) priso(cid:374). There are themes of homosexuality, and sexual slavery. It is about shame, gay shame, power, forfeiting your power as a queer, etc. It has been the most published canadian play ever, it was translated in over 40 languages.
