There needs to be a physical base of action where the rest of the performance is built on. Physical terrain as an actor we exist here or a landscape. Blocking more important in film than in theatre. Script supervisor - they take down which takes are going to be used. Master (wide shot) all of the physical action and dialogue. Coverage all the other angles you have in a shot. The more coverage a film has, the better the film is. Indie films does not have enough time or money to do set ups. Set ups- changing up the camera for a different shot of the scene. In a 3 minute sequence, there are 40+ shots.
