THE STRATEGIES 1. Making connections:  Strategic readers connect what they know with what they are reading.  Using prior knowledge.  Connecting text to text.  Connecting text to self.  Connecting text to world.  Does this remind me of something?  Have I ever felt this way?  Does this information confirm or conflict with other things I’ve read? 2.
