He wrote the first textbook for police administration. Wilson was the chair for a national search for a new police chief for chicago. 1960: wilson was appointed the chief of police for chicago. Over the next 8 years, many officers were fired or demoted; he established strong rules and regulations, etc. o. Wilson did not trust the low level, street police officers, so he emphasized strict guidelines and disciplines.
