Police process o o o o o o o o. Wilson: one of vollmer"s college educated officers; vollmer"s prodigy. If vollmer was the innovator, wilson was the administrator. Eventually, wilson becomes chief of police of wichita, kansas (1928). Instated one of the first sop"s (standard operating procedure) <50 police officers under his leadership became chiefs across the us. He resigned after 11 years of being police chief after an incident at a church. During wwii, he became the dean of the school of criminology at ucberkley. He wrote the first textbook for police administration. Wilson was the chair for a national search for a new police chief for chicago. 1960: wilson was appointed the chief of police for chicago. Over the next 8 years, many officers were fired or demoted; he established strong rules and regulations, etc. o. Wilson did not trust the low level, street police officers, so he emphasized strict guidelines and disciplines.
