Punished by time in penitentiary, more than a year in prison. Violent crime has been dropping over the last 20 years. Of all crimes are property crimes. Economic / white collar crime costs far more money. No crime without law, no punishment without law. Citizens are able to know but ignorance of the law is not a valid excuse. Must be voluntary (have to be in control) Having a seizure and breaking someone"s nose doesn"t count because you aren"t in control. Being addicted to drugs is a crime, can"t arrest someone because you know they"re going to go get drugs. Person acts with intent that their actions causes specific harm. Person realizes what their doing is going to cause a certain action. Didn"t mean to kill janet, but knew the grenade could kill more people. Person is aware of a substantial risk that a certain result will occur as a result of their actions.
