Document Summary

They knew one thing: this experience we have is not real. We cannot prove that physical reality is real. When you look at the stars, you are seeing them millions of years ago. We are seeing the light from the stars. Lights bounce off a person and it takes time for the light to get to you. So you are seeing them as they were milliseconds ago. If you hear them, it is slower because sound is slower than light. We assume that there is a physical material universe whether we would be here or not. Just an assumption but no direct experience with that. Sound is experience of a perceiver that takes vibration and turns it into sound. Light has various wavelengths that we interpret as colors. We discriminate against things that since we are told that is red, we call it red. Color allows us to discriminate better than to someone who can"t see color.
