Case study #1: steve was a marine during the vietnam war and witnessed his friend die in front of him. Forty-five years later, he averages four hours of sleep per night, often has nightmares, and reacts evasively when he hears a helicopter. Case study #2: wendy is very conscientious when it comes to her body and the way she looks. Three years ago, she began limiting her caloric intake to the extent that her body weight dropped to 85% of her ideal body weight (as calculated by bmi). Abnormal, going into range of eating disorder following months, she cried often and began to isolate herself socially. Case study #3: donna"s husband, matthew, died unexpectedly in a car accident. Would be different if she were bursting in tears and isolating herself for no reason. Or if he began to behave in an erratic and impulsive way, sleeping less and incorrectly boasting that he is the best swimmer to walk the earth?)
