Ethical dilemmas occur when values conflict and all possible courses of action are imperfect. Importance of human relationships: social workers recognize the central importance of human relationships. Integrity: social workers behave in a trustworthy manner. 5: competence: social workers practice within their areas of competence and develop and enhance their professional expertise. Micro system- includes an individual"s biological, psychological, and spiritual subsystems. Mezzo system- sometimes difficult to distinguish between micro and mezzo. Macro system- includes communities, organizations, and large societal systems. Theory: a coherent group of principles, concepts, and ideas organized to explain some observable occurrence or trend. They provide a structured framework or lens for understanding the world, they also help us to know what to focus on in assessment and intervention. Combining the systems theory and the ecological theory creates the ecosystems theory.
