-Membrane proteins are highly hydrophobic = hard to fold once itâs completely made!

-Too long is fragile!
-Too short = barely touch the surface!
-Bacteria has do decide the length. Length of needle is controlled!
The needle length varies and is dictated by the molecular ruler!
-the length of the protein determines the length of the needle!
