A few people that contributed to discovering dna is genetic material. Transforming property genetic makeup of one organism can change another organism. Griffith discovered bacterial info. that exhibited the transforming property (1927) Experiment virulence carrying the diseased bacteria non-virulent no disease. Griffith injected the virulence into a mouse, which would cause it die. When non-virulent was injected into a mouse, mouse would live. Griffith then heated the virulence which killed the disease and the mouse lived. When a mixture of both heat-killed virulent and non-virulent were injected into mouse the mouse died. Something in the last example transformed the avirulent material. ^used scientific method to discover the transforming agent was dna. They assumed the potential agents were rna, dna, lipids, and proteins. They injected separate enzymes that were responsible for destroying each potential agent. When the dna enzyme, the transformation did not occur, unlike when the other three enzymes were injected.
