MATH 1130 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Unit Circle, Radian, Unit

68 views1 pages
UNIT CIRCLE
- Degrees: Those are the most known around circle
- Radians: Have some variation of pi (Specifically when talking about the unit circle!) There are
radian values of “normal numbers” like 2 or 1.568 or -8.5
- Coordinates outside of the unit circle: These can be thought of as (cosƟ, sinƟ)
So, at angle 30 degrees cos30= (Square root 3)/2 and sin30= 1/2
This is proven mathematically and works with the other parts of the unit circle. By memorizing
the unit circle, you can save time when it comes to finding trig values for longer equations.
