Document Summary

It is defined as the linear momentum of an object of mass moving with a velocity. P=mv **note there is an arrow above p and v due to the fact that they are vectors. *the direction of the momentum is the same as the velocity"s. The impulse delivered to an object of mass is equal to the product of the average force applied to the mass and delta t or time interval. Time interval is the amount of time that the force is applied to the object. This represents the relationship between momentum and impules: *impulse acting on the object is equal to the change in momentum of the object. *it is the strong force in car collisions that cause death. Change in momentum is the same due to mass, initial speed before collision, and final speed which will equal zero are all the same regardless of time.
