Ex] when you"re listening to a friend who needs you. Listening to see if the message is true or not. When doing this, one needs to be careful that their own biases do not affect how they absorb the speakers message. Shows that you are paying attention and care about the message. Reading up on the material before the speaker talks so that you comprehend more. Reading about the material after the speaker talks so that you absorb more. Gives a more personal meaning to the message. These can be hand gestures or walking around.
