CJC 101 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Mind Map, Concept Map

22 views2 pages

Document Summary

Traditionally most students take notes in outline format. Using mind maps or concept maps could be better because outlines force you to absorb and format your information and organize it all at the same time. It doesn"t give you time to process the information and for you to make your own connections. With mind maps you have time to absorb the information and learn. You have time to make sense of it on your own. With mind maps you can draw and connect different material that you"re learning and connect everything. It"s super simple to create a mind map or concept map. The catch with this is you already need to go to the lecture or already have read notes prior to this so you can correctly make the map and know how to connect everything. So basically you start with the topic and create arrows facing down.
