The need for a reform in globalization to take into account places in africa and elsewhere which do not fit the convergence and creolization theories. Theory held that if state power decreases, capital/investment would flow into the poorest countries and increase quality of life. In reality, since the state is destabilized, the effect of that is actually worse for poorer countries (i think?) Africa has not benefited from neoliberal reform. Africans have not been exploited by the capitalist market, according to him. Violence is directly ties to economic success of african countries because it opens up control to companies and ngos. The destabilization allows companies to create highly fenced off areas. Ex: gold mining businesses and environmental ngos (aarc)
