Andr breton, from the first manifesto of surrealism, art in theory, 447-453. Freud created a current of opinion in which the human explorer will be bale to carry his investigations much further. The imagination is on the point of reasserting itself. Freud brought focus to the concept of the dream. When man wakes up he becomes the plaything of his memory. For this reason, we don"t believe dreams to be important because we cant remember them. The mind displays a strange tendency to lose its bearings and doesn"t function normally under dream state. The mind of the man who dreams is fully satisfied by what happens to him. If a mans awakening is harder, if it breaks the spell too abruptly, it is because he has been led to make for himself too impoverished a notion of atonement.
