Important to look at construction of the other that was used to justify actions: readings for today, outing program, placed indigenous girls in homes of white, middle class families, boarding schools. 1879 by richard pratt who served as headmaster for 25 years. Pratt believed that day schools weren"t as effective at assimilation - people needed to be fully removed from reservation.
