Document Summary

Behavior is performed if bene t is greater than cost. All three are highly adaptive, they follow darwin"s paradigm. By performing those types of behavior, the animal survives better. Size of a population is ultimately determined on where it is located on the food chain. The major concern in ecology are the levels of the population and communities. In order to understating communities are formed and maintain we must rst look at populations. Ecology is more concerned with interactions over longer periods of time. Growth of populations they grow or don"t, they eventually reach stability in their size. Life table a means of looking at the population by studying the survival rates of individuals over time. it helps understand life stresses. Vertical strategy follows a population though its entire life from beginning to end. Horizontal strategy samples the population at a point in time & determines from the various proportions of individuals of a given age class.
