Explain what"s not obvious, but relevant, in the photo. Don"t always need to identify specifically by name. Describe what the subjects are doing, what is the main thing happening. Make sure the connection between the photo and the story is made clear. You can do right to left or vice versa. Only need to identify people that are identifiable (faces at least the size of a dime) Or perhaps only identify main subject (leader of protest, person holding main sign, etc. ) Only identify people whose identity isn"t readily obvious to reader (i. e. donald, melania trump) Anytime you can drop a quote in or lead with something other than the person"s name, do it! You still want to be creative, be humorous when appropriate, etc. We"ll be supplying cutlines beginning with this next assignment. Write cutlines for the photos you submit -- include cutlines in a word document within folder with pictures.
