Attention: early attention research or the idea of inattention. Mind wandering- dan gilbert: what percentage of time people are mind wandering, ~50, people are more likely to be happy when focused on the present than people who are mind wandering. Does type of mind wandering effect happiness: view lecture slide- can"t post copyrighted material, what does the brain do when the mind wanders, marcus raichle. The brain has a default mode at rest. Consists of the vmpfc, dmpfc, amcc, precuneus, pcc, inferior parietal lobe and the hippocampus- some of them are discussed below: important for final or test: medical pfc. Self-referential processing: processing info (how) is relevant to us, precuneus. Important to the generation of mental images (in head: possible area of the brain that serves for consciousness, cingulate cortex (posterior) Integration of emotions: with info from environment, with info form self-referential, and other info.
