Document Summary

Vast differences in: life expectancy, mental and physical health, likelihood of divorce, probability of growing up in a single-parent household, probability of not having a residential father, being the victim of crime. Definition: a group of people who are assumed to have at least some characteristics in common (typically physical ones), and are thought to share a common bloodline, ancestry, or biological heritage. Skin color is one of the primary characteristics used to classify races. Differences in skin color, hair texture, facial structures, and perhaps even minor physiological processes such as dietary enzymes, evolved in response to different environmental conditions. However, under the skin we are all pretty much the same (brains, hearts, nervous systems, etc. ) except for normal variation. Racism can manifest itself in two ways: prejudice, discrimination. Racial prejudice: negative attitudes, thoughts, or feelings about members of select racial groups.
