Session 3: ethics in the conduct of evaluations. Assignment 2: you may complete individually or as a group. If in a group, lit review would be extended to ~8 pages. Project aims and rationale (1-2 pages: overview of the evaluation project aims and rationale for the project. Due session 6: bring hard copy february 23rd. Social workers should monitor and evaluate policies, the implementation of programs, and practice interventions. Beneficence and program eval: ex: tax-run programs actually doing what is expected, ex: studies that test on individuals with mental health concerns. Social workers engaged in eval or research should obtain voluntary and written informed consent from participants. Challenges in working with children/adults with learning disabilities: coercion. Best practices when working with this population: consent from participant and support person, accessibility,/cultural competence, no coercion, ongoing consent, breaking down into pieces, education.
