Document Summary
Egocentrism: most kids talk out loud just egocentric, does not pertain to the listener, many have challenged, and some have even found that 2 year olds talk differently to babies than to adults. Piaget"s three mountain task: shows whether or not children are egocentric, piaget push kids to justify, see disequilibrium in answer to make them think differently. Conservation: core component remains the same even if it transitions in the way it looks. Centration: tend to focus on only one aspect of a task; must decenter to be able to do the task by focusing on several aspects of the problem. Horizontal decalage: children develop conservation of some aspects of objects sooner than others. Class inclusion: understand that there are subordinate classes within superordinate class. Implications: explore objects and properties of objects, learn by being engaged in activity, explore though strategic questioning, encourage to look at viewpoint of others and become less egocentric.
