For my cultural analysis, i plan on attending the la casa hisp nica"s noche de pel cula, movie night in vout . The third floor of vout is a group of twenty students who commit to speaking only spanish while in their dorm. They host several events throughout the school year such as festivals, charlas, films, concerts, and more. The people who live in vout are primarily native spanish speakers, originating from spain, latin america, and even hispanic communities within the united states. La casa hisp nica invites all boston college students enrolled in a spanish class to attend their events, especially their movie nights. Movie nights are held three to four times per month, but are usually restricted to vout residents only. After attending this event, i hope to understand more about both the spanish language as a whole as well as the customs of spanish speaking students studying in an english-speaking environment.
