Description
Chantz Delgado September 28 , 2012 Culture Club Name of Activity: Movie Title: Banlieue 13 What I Learned From the French Culture: I learned that the roots of the sport of Parkour are in France. The two main characters of  this movie flip around a lot and do tons of cool tricks. What magnified this aspect of the movie was  the actual plot revolved around a leader who was not satisfied with his people in Paris and literally  closed off sections of the city to display his power. The two main characters team up to take down  this ruler using violence combined with the acts of Parkour. This dangerous and evasive sport is  ideal for the setting that the movie takes place in.  Additionally, what I can take away from this movie is the cultural reaction to a bad ruler.  The reason why Paris was cornered off by walls is because of an unhappy drug lord. Therefore, the  two characters did their best to try to overthrow the ruler. This reminds me of the French Revolution  th because the absolute monarchy that took place in France during the late 18  century was similar to  the way this drug lord ruled his people. It was ridiculously unfair and unjust and as a result, heavy  reformations were made. The citizens in the
