Uses a series of pictures, not ink blots, that are shown and the person you are testing is asked to make up a story about the things that they see. The assumption is that the person will project onto this ambiguous material their own internal conflicts, wishes, desires, etc. No way to score it just look for constant themes. Content of story is open to interpretation. Usually use this when you are looking to establish how well grounded in reality a person is. All pictures are black and white people criticize it for being outdated. There is one for children (cat) that includes animals and colors. Criticism for clinician they pull certain cards with certain themes to test their own hypothesis. If you think a person is depressed, you may pull certain cards to confirm that they are or rule that out. You don"t want to overinterpret any single story, but you want to see common themes.
