Bond has been working on a mission - he is spying on willard whyte, a man who is thought to be controlling an international diamond smuggling ring. Amsterdam, under disguise, and meets his contact - tiffany case. While working to gain information, case is his go to for information and works as an informant citing that she knows someone that works closely with whyte. Throughout their time together bond and case become very close and share an intimate relationship. Bond observes whyte and his team from afar at a casino they frequent. Since the observations and spying on whyte and his team are extremely dangerous, bond gives case a handkerchief that his father used to give his mother when he went away on missions during the war. It was seen as a promise that he would always be coming back and would be faithful to her. One day while observing, bond notices whyte"s new accessory - his handkerchief.
