A transitional period, from about 1300-1500, and sometimes referred to as the. This period is followed by the renaissance and the reformation. Northern europe, including england, spain, germany, and france experience the renaissance around 1500, while the renaissance in italy starts as early as 1350. The plague, starts in 1347 and continues through 1700. 1400 people learn to live with the plague because no one knows when it will come back. It goes in waves around towns and cities, so no one knows when they will have to confront a bout of plague. The history of the plague is recorded by giovanni boccaccio in. Includes an accurate account of the black death. For example, 100,000 people died in florence during one summer. Boccaccio wrote earlier than chaucer, but wrote in a modern and secular style. Chaucer, in comparison, is more church based and more. The plague was the second of history.
