Keyword assignment #1: freedom is the ability to act, think, or speak what one wishes to exude without the restraint or influence of others; therefore, in a civilized society, absolute freedom does not exist. This is done to protect the individual rights and actions of each person from those who would seek to cause harm or strike down their rights as human beings. However, complete eradication of freedom prevents the significance of individuality from realization and acknowledgement. Each person holds a distinctive trait, a specific personality exhibited through language, thought, and action that serves to classify the individual. Of course, there are benefits and downfalls to each extreme and in between on the spectrum of freedom, but freedom itself is not good or bad. It is a state of being whose absolute existence cannot survive in a functional, diverse society: the topic of freedom is especially pressing in modern day united.
