Superposition superposition principle- for all linear systems, the net response at a given place and time caused by 2+ stimuli is the sum of the responses that would have been caused by each stimulus (voltage/current source) individually. Superposition is used to analyze circuits with 2+ voltage and/or current sources. Pick a ground node, label all branch currents, and then assign +/- polarities across the circuit components (as you would normally for the circuit analysis procedure) Superposition allows us to find the voltage across circuit components in terms of one (current or voltage) source at a time. Zero out all independent sources (i. e. set all other sources to 0 (zero out all sources)) For each source (either voltage or current source) Compute by summing the for all (same can be done for finding current values (i. e. summing up the currents of each circuit)) Voltage source: replace with a short circuit (a short circuit represents a plain wire with 0 voltage difference)
