Last week: prejudice vs prejudice + power. The power adds impact: white supremacy > white privilege. Even poor whites have privilege, just not class privilege. Still difference between poor white people and poor people of color. Colonization: trying to build community in places where their sheer act of communing means that the existent community is forced to leave to make space for them. Capitalism: encourages, promotes, and mandates the lie of separation and individualism, tragic thing is the confusion/shock of starter-gentrifyers / gentrifyer-enablers when they too get gentri ed. When they think that it"s the policymakers and policitricksters, corporate interests, that are the cause of all this gentri cation . If these people just work on their own decolonization, their own embedded capitalist values, their own inconvenience, then it would be the ultimate act of revolution by ungentrif. the land that"s been stolen.
