Document Summary

Dogs exist, doesn"t say that existence is a property of dogs. Talks about whether there is anything that instantiates the concept (of dogs ) a. i. Ex(god(x)) - asks is this claim true or false, not giving a property: essence of bodies is extension a. therefore there is shape, size, volume etc. Natural impulse is not clear and distinct, natural light is self evident and clear and distinct: god gives him natural impulse to believe in bodies. He has no way of correcting this impulse. God would have been deceiving him if bodies did not exist. I have a strong natural impulse to believe that bodies exist. If this belief were false, i would be incapable of rationally correcting it. If god let me have such a belief that i couldn"t correct if i were false, he would be a deceiver. So belief in bodies is true, bodies exist. a. iv. a. v: primary and secondary qualities, primary: clear and distinct perceptions.
