If have the x chromosome abnormality, but have the other as a y, the x chromosome abnormality will play itself out more without the other x chromosome protection. At puberty, many factors conspire to place girls at risk. Genetic vulnerability = susceptibility to environmental stress. Puberty and adolescence in us, average age for period is going down.
