Document Summary

** check the announcement on bcourse ** Optic nerve filled with axon and retinal ganglion cells. Optic nerve crosses right underneath the brain known as optic chiasm (some neurons will cross over, but some will not) and go to the thalamus to make synapse. In thalamus visual information goes into lgn and travel to primary visual cortex, in occipital lobe, called v1. Activation of light on the right visual field periphery. Light in right visual field would hit the inside (close to nose) of retina on right eye and the outside of retina on the outside (close to ear) of left eye. Light will activate all those cells, blah blah, then retinal ganglion cells will travel through the optic nerve. Activation of light on the left visual field. Light hits the inside of left eye and outside of right eye. Both retinal ganglion cells go towards right lgn and then to right visual cortex.
