I have always loved theater and drama, but did not get the chance to involve myself in performing arts as much as i would have liked in high school. The class seemed to combine two things i loved and i was interested in learning more about. The rave reviews on the seminar and the professor propelled me to sign up. I would find it challenging to play reverend dunbar ogden. Like daisy bates, i find it difficult to put myself in the shoes of a white person who clearly sees what is happening and stands up for civil rights at the expense of losing friends and betraying a race . I find him so courageous given his position, and such a complex character. I find police chief gene smith easy to play. His character is one that is steadfast and dutiful.
