The lack of food during wars leads to defeat even with the most well trained army. After the development of machinery and improvement in new techniques, famine isn"t a fatal issue anymore. For the privileged classes, food is no longer in short supply. As a result, they turn to the taste of food. Today, as we go to restaurants, sit down, dress formally, delicately consume our well decorated, clean, and high quality food, we have become a generation of foodies. A foodie is an individual who has invested him or herself in appreciating various characteristics of the food culture, often by seeking to understand the histories and cultural aspects surrounding food (matt 22. ) People tend to appreciate food as an art.
