Hard work and ability is what allows one to move forward- not your wealth/reputation. Church was made the center of the community. Pilgrims were least tolerant of religious freedom in europe - they wanted less tolerant community (it was punishment by death if u didnt come to church) Different colonies were formed because of ppl moving out to other communities with different religious freedoms. Consider themselves own sovereign nations with their own religious tolerances. Experience is formed in each separate state, but they now dont know how to deal with each other. How do you give federal power to maintain states but also maintain the states freedoms. Rights of people in regard to power of states and the power of the federal govt. All 3 branches influence law- checks & balances.
