State senate proportionality problems- bigger states have more representation than smaller states. Small states can form a large coalition to block the majority from overruling. How much power the federal govt has on the states, and how much power each state has on each other. What makes sense and what is good for our society, may be different than what is good for each individual. So individuals break into different groups that are more about what they think/believe. Its very hard to reach that perfect common good.
