Used for program evaluation and it"s ability to have the desired effect on a target population. Arose from need to conduct applied research in setting where perfect control could not be achieved. Data comes from questionnaires, interviews , and stats records. Individuals use info that is available to design most effect intervention. 3. process evaluation: determines if program, as is designed, is properly implemented , ues interviews questionnaires, stats, and observational studies. 4. outcome evaluation: used to determine if program has had desired effect, 5. efficiency assesment : used to perform a cost/benefit analysis. Adminstrators use this type of assesment to make decisions about whether a program should be continued: please list and describe the possible problems with quasi-experimental research designs. Weak internal validity: there is no control group. Maturation changes may occur over time due to changes in age/physical development.
