Women gathered nuts, fruit, berries, roots, tubers. This comprises about 85% of their diet. Men hunt, they get meat from elephants. They hunt for seals in groups and put a person at each air hole. Tools are all crafted by hand and they use a device to find the precise angle that they have to impale the hole to kill the seal. The men immediately eat the liver of the seal as a ritual to the seal goddess. They live in a society of relative equals. Use all of the seal: skin for clothing or indoor hanging, blubber for burning, drink blood, eat meat. The seal is cut into 14 different parts and is given out to the people so no one in the camp goes hungry. Egalitarianism community, sexual division of labor. Since there was little water they herded cows: drink milk and blood, wash hands in urine, eat meat, brush teeth and body with ash from the dung.
